How much does self-storage cost?
We publish our current prices plus terms & conditions directly online on this website. The rental prices may be different for each Self-Storage location and each unit-size. Please note, we often publish attractive special offers and discounts for long-term rentals.
Storage requirements
Experience shows that storage requirements are often over-estimated
Our storage rooms are between 2.35 and 3 meters high. So you can stack them to make good use of the height and make the storage space even more affordable.
We calculate the correct storage volume so that you don’t pay more than necessary.
As a general rule:
Approximately 10% of the living space is required as storage space.
Current rental prices per storage unit
We offer a wide range of storage unit sizes at every self-storage location. Each storage unit is assigned to a category with a specific content in square meters. Below you will find a table with the current rental prices for our self-storage in Basel and for our self-storage in Dübendorf.
As the storage units can vary in height and it ultimately depends on how much storage volume you can use, we calculate our rental prices per storage volume (and not per storage space). Of course, we also report the floor area and the length and width of each storage box so that the usable volume can be seen. This way you can get an idea of the storage boxes. There are also often attractive special offers and discounts and we always offer discounts for long-term rentals.
We do not charge any fees for booking, changing storage units or canceling. There is only a deposit in the amount of the monthly rent, which is refunded after leaving an empty and clean storage unit.

How much does a self-storage box cost with Boxly?
The price calculation of a storage unit depends primarily on two things:
Volume of the storage room
We rent out various sizes of storage room, from small 1 m3 lockers to 40 m3 storage rooms. Normally, the larger the storage space, the cheaper the volume.
Location of the storage room
In the larger locations, the storage compartments closer to the entrance can be slightly more expensive, while the boxes further away are cheaper. So if you don’t come by often because you only want access to your things from time to time, you can save on a monthly basis with a box on a lower floor or with a little more walking distance from the entrance.
Prices
The prices and special offers published on the website are valid for a reservation on the website at the time of booking.
If a storage unit is booked and prepaid for 3, 6 or 12 months, the price is fixed for the entire duration.
At the end of this rental period (3, 6 or 12 months), the contract automatically becomes a contract for an indefinite period with monthly payment, unless the contract is terminated in good time. You may also extend your prepayment contract for another period of 3, 6 or 12 months. Boxly has the right to change the price for the storage space after this fixed period has expired.
If a storage unit is rented for an indefinite period, the amount is due monthly. Boxly has the right to adjust the prices of the storage units at any time. Price changes will always be communicated by e-mail at least 4 weeks in advance.

Reserve, change and cancel
Reservations via website:
Our prices and special offers are valid at the time of reservation and payment.
Reservations made by e-mail:
The offered price and the special offers are valid for 10 days. Upon receipt of payment, the reservation and the price are fixed. Other prices and special offers may apply after 10 calendar days.
Reservations must always be made via website or e-mail.
We are happy to provide information by telephone, but do not accept reservations. Reservations via e-mail are valid when all required details and the first payment have been received by Boxly.
What do I need to make a reservation?
We need the following information to make a reservation:
Surname, first name, address, e-mail address, telephone number, date of birth and a copy of your ID.
The person providing the above information is always the main tenant and is responsible for the whole process of renting, moving in, storing, moving out and paying.
Only the main tenant can share the access app and always remains responsible for the entire reservation. The main tenant can block authorization for the app and thus access for third parties at any time.
How can I change or cancel an existing reservation?

Call us during office hours or send us an e-mail so that we can make the necessary arrangements. The storage rooms are charged per day so that you only pay for the time zou actually use the box.
Has the time come to leave the storage room altogether?
Call us during office hours or send us an e-mail. We will do the necessary. There is no notice period, you can vacate the box any day. When the box is completely empty and clean at the end of the hire we will refund the deposit immediately. Depending on your bank, it may take a few days for the amount to appear in your account.
